Join the Crew – Can I go?

The Showrunner Camp is open to middle to high school students (including those who will be starting middle school next fall and those who are graduating high school this year).  The program will be able to accommodate some special needs (contact producer@juneaulive.org for more information).  The program is limited to 20 crew members to ensure everyone can fully experience all aspects of the program.

NEW!  Studio Apprentice 1/2 Day Camp for elementary school students.

Participants (“interns”) learn the skills needed to broadcast a live show talk-show, recorded in front of a studio audience. During the five day camp (9 am to 1 pm), the interns receive instruction from industry professionals and practice those skills is a working studio (making a live, public broadcast each day). the interns become part of the Showrunner Camp production company.  By week’s end, the interns produce (with on-screen credit) , with assistance of the Sh0wruner Camp crew, an episode of one of Juneau Live! Studio’s popular series (10,000+ views), in front of a studio audience. Click here for more information and registration.

Alaska Food Worker Card

Each Crew Member, as part of learning Craft Service / Catering Class, will need to have an Alaska Food Worker Card (and bring to camp).  If the Crew Member does not already have their card, they need to follow the instructions below and use the prepaid test id invoice numberprovided by camp staff to get their card (Link to Practice Test):

  1. Each individual must sign into myAlaska before taking the Food Worker Card Test Online. If an individual has difficulty signing into myAlaska, please contact Enterprise Technology Services at (907) 465-5211.
  2. Select View Your Services.
  3. Select Pay Food Worker Card Fee Online. This will bring the individual to the Food Worker Card home page.
  4. Select the orange button titled Click to Print Test ID.
  5. Input the invoice number the remitter has been assigned and select submit. Your invoice number is located above.
  6. Input the individual’s first and last name and select submit. This will assign a Test ID purchased by the remitter to the individual.
  7. Write down the Test ID that appears on the screen. Return to the Food Worker Card home page.
  8. Select the purple button titled Click to Take Food Worker Test.
  9. Input the Test ID assigned.
  10. Take the test. Upon successful completion, the individual will be able to print out their State of Alaska Food Worker Card (and make a copy to bring to camp).
