If you are not in a group and would be willing to serve, please put your name on the F.A.M.I.L.Y. Group list on the bulletin board by the coffee pot. A description of family group responsibilities follows.
Being in charge means that together the people in the group will, each Sunday in the month, handle the fellowship hour and the ushering duties. It is up to the group to distribute the tasks!
Like good Lutherans everywhere our fellowship includes coffee. Therefore, before Sunday check to be sure that there is a supply of coffee in the upper cupboard to the far left of the sink in the Gathering Area. While you are at it, look for creamer, sugar and artificial sweeteners, coffee cups and 5 ounce cups for juice, small plates, napkins, and plastic forks and spoons. If the supplies are inadequate, additional supplies, if we have them, will be in the locked food closet. Something missing?--either go shopping or arrange to have someone else purchase needed supplies. Buy or prepare food!
On Sunday morning: Make coffee (36 or 42 cups) following the instructions posted on the board by the coffee pot. Set out creamer and sweeteners, stirrers, and cups on the counter near the coffee pot, If you choose to provide juice, put it and 5 ounce cups next to the coffee supplies. In the absence of juice, place a pitcher (from the cupboard over the sink) of water and cups on the counter. Pull the round table out further into the room to avoid congestion and put a tablecloth on it. Tablecloths are stored in the locked food closet and in the coat hanging area near the rest rooms. Set food on the table along with plates and napkins. Add spoons and forks if appropriate for the food supplied. At the end of fellowship time, clean up. Return supplies and table cloth to their proper place, wash dishes and put them away, wipe down counters, wash coffee pot. Take dirty linens home for laundering and return them.
As an usher you will hand out bulletins, collect the offering, and put up and take down the altar rail extender and guide people to the altar for communion.
